Abstract

Since the onset of market reforms in Serbia, leading to sharp debate about the optimal exchange rate regime. Currently the actual fluctuating exchange rates that replaced a fixed regime, while many experts "call" to the aid of a currency board. The paper reviews the advantages and disadvantages of each solution in order to elucidate the role of the exchange rate in achieving economic progress.
