HEALTH CARE – COSTS AND FINANCING

Health care is different from ordinary goods in that users, through state programs and private insurance for health services provided at a lower price than their value.Developed countries for health care spending between 10 and 15% of GDP Transition countries spend less on health care resources (5-6% of GDP), although in some countries the level of investment in health rather high (Croatia about 9% of GDP, Slovenia 8,60% of GDP). Serbia consumes about 6% of GDP on health care, and funds for the financing of compulsory health insurance provides a payment of contributions for compulsory health insurance, which is calculated at a rate of 12,3%.
