Abstract

Enterprises in Republic of Serbia are facing challenge to be being more innovative, more productive and more profitable and at the same time more responsible and sustainable. Modern economy flows, flexible business conditions and turbulent environment require a modern organization that permanently changes, improves and adapts to the environment in which it performs its business activities as a dynamic system. Promoting sustainable development represents a radical shift in the concept of environmental protection. The basic idea is that the connection between economic growth and development and environmental problems is more strongly linked. The idea of sustainable development is more convincing if it is interpreted as a way that an additional level of development can be socially unnecessary if the environment is threatened, or if greater inequality in the distribution leads to the bad life of the entire community. Therefore, the business in a socially responsible way becomes a key topic and imperative of the modern business of the enterprises, since the business takes place in an environment that must be taken care of.
